It may only be December, but Real Madrid's hopes of winning La Liga may be gone. Barcelona, the clear front-runner to win the league, won El Clasico on Saturday, beating Real Madrid 3-0 in the Spanish capital behind goals from Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi.

The first half saw each team with chances, with Real looking a bit sharper and Cristiano Ronaldo missing a shocker, but the tide turned in the second half as Suarez scored early before Real was left with 10 men following a red card on Dani Carvajal, which gave Barca a penalty that Messi would not miss.

Then something wild happen. In the span of 10 seconds, the ball hit the post, there was a red card, players falling down and more. In the end, Carvajal received a deserved red card for his clear handball to stop a goal:
In stoppage time, with the Bernabeu emptying, Aleix Vidal put away a third goal to put a bow on it for Barca.

The 3-0 victory moves Barcelona nine clear atop the table as La Liga enters the winter break, while Real Madrid loses for the third time this season in league play and looks nearly out of the title race in December.

Barca, for the first time, has won three straight league matches at Real Madrid.
