Following a loss to Seth Rollins in a heated match for the Intercontinental Championship, Kevin Owens sat in the middle of the ring, an obviously broken man, with two words for a partisan Toronto-Ontario, Canada crowd:
"I quit."
And just like that, Owens became the latest Superstar to evoke the two most useless words in WWE's lexicon.
Owens quit. Just like Batista, before he eventually came back. Just like John Bradshaw Layfield, before he eventually came back. Just like Joey Styles, before he eventually came back. And, yes, just like Bret "The Hitman" Hart, before he eventually came back.
To any pro wrestling fan worth their salt, Kevin Owens' abrupt sign-off should be taken with a grain of it. Yet, on a night where a newsworthy Raw also faced competition from the US Open, Owens trended near the top of Twitter for hours after his shocking announcement.
