The worst has happened: after terrorizing TSG Hoffenheim’s defense for nearly an entire half, Bayern Munich’s young dynamic winger Kingsley Coman was cynically taken out by Nico Schulz. The late, studs-up challenge tore up several feet of turf before the defender’s cleats plowed into the winger’s ankle.
Coman instantly went down and seemed to be seriously injured. He seemed to be aware of the severity of his injury within moments after hitting the pitch. Bayern’s medical team immediately rushed out and removed Coman’s left shoe to treat him.
Coman was helped off the pitch by two members of the medical team. He was unable to put any pressure on his injured left foot at all. They helped him down the tunnel and up the stairs into the heart of the Allianz.
We will publish an update on Coman’s status as soon as more is known.
