R. Kelly vows to move forward with a series of concerts in the wake of allegations that he’s holding women against their will in a “cult.”
The R&B singer took to social media on Thursday (July 27) to denounce those accusations while confirming his upcoming tour dates.
“Despite all of the crap y’all hearing I will be coming to the East Coast to do my show,” he said. “And believe me, y’all, it’s a bunch of crap.”
Currently, R.Kelly is on the “After Party Tour,” which is scheduled to stop in Virginia Beach . From there, he will spend the weekend performing in Baltimore and White Plains.
Although he is also scheduled to stop in Detroit on Aug. 5, three shows have been canceled — Aug. 11 in New Orleans, Aug. 12 in Baton Rouge, and Aug. 13 in Dallas — according to Ticketmaster. The tour is set to resume Aug. 25 in Atlanta through Oct. 5 in Las Vegas.
This month, three former members of Kelly’s inner circle accused him of holding women against their will in a cult. Kelly and one of his alleged victims have denied these allegations. Earlier this week, it was revealed that Kelly hired Bill Cosby’s former lawyer Monique Pressley to join his legal team in the wake of the latest report regarding his treatment of women.
