The “Trap Queen” rapper-singer was seen racing a 2015 Mercedes-Benz against another vehicle at 100 miles per hour in a 50 mph zone at 1 a.m. in New York City on Friday (Nov. 3), according to TMZ.
Police pulled him over,
noticed signs of intoxication, and presented him with a field sobriety test, which he failed. According to the report, he blew a 0.9 on the breathalyzer, which is above the legal limit of intoxication.
Wap, born Willie Maxwell II, has been charged with a series of crimes, including speeding, reckless endangerment, drag racing, driving under the influence, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, driving without a license, unsafe lane changing, and following too close, according to the report. He remains in jail and is expected to be bailed out soon.
This isn’t the first time that the New Jersey star has faced legal issues. Last year, he was forced to pay a $360 fine for driving with a suspended license, failure to replace lost or defaced license plates, and having overly-tinted windows.
Fetty Wap broke onto the scene with “Trap Queen” in 2014 and released his self-titled debut album the next year. Now, he is working on his sophomore project, King Zoo.
