Migos wants a part in The Lion King. Last week, the Beyoncé and Donald Glover-led cast of Disney’s live-action reboot was revealed. Now, Quavo is eyeing a casting change.
“3 Hyenas Lions King 🙌🏾 call us 📱 @Disney,” he tweeted.
Unfortunately for Huncho, the roles of the three hyenas have already been filled by Keegan-Michael Key, Eric André, and Florence Kasumba.3 Hyenas Lions King 🙌🏾 call us 📱 @Disney— QuavoYRN (@QuavoStuntin) November 5, 2017
The original three hyenas—Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed—were played by Whoopi Goldberg, Cheech Marin, and Jim Cummings in the 1994 animated film. Shenzi will be played by Kasumba, while Banzai and Ed have been renamed Azizi and Kamari. The newly-minted hyenas will be played by Key and André.
As previously reported, Beyoncé will take the role of Nala, while Donald Glover will play Simba. James Earl Jones (Mustafa), Chiwetel Ejiofor (Scar), Alfre Woodard (Sarabi), John Oliver (Zazu), and Seth Rogen (Pumbaa) are also part of the star-studded reboot, which is slated to hit theaters in summer 2019.
Quavo may not be in The Lion King, but that doesn’t mean he’s not busy. The rapper is working on Migos’ new album Culture II, a movie script, and a joint project with Travis Scott.
