Before performing “Your Song” at the 2017 Teen Choice Awards, Rita Ora teams up with Avicii on “Lonely Together” off the DJ’s latest EP, AVĪCI (01)..
Over Avicii’s hypnotic and electronic
production, the British songstress sings about a reckless evening and loneliness before the track’s dance-ready drop.
“I might hate myself tomorrow but I’m on my way tonight,” she sings. “At the bottom of the bottle, you’re the poison in the wine / I know I can’t change you and I won’t change.”
Before the song was even released, the British songstress thanked Avicii for the collaboration. “Thank you @avicii for having me on this amazing journey with you,” she said. “It’s my summer anthem!”
“Lonely Together” is one of six tracks on Avicii’s new EP, joining a guest roster that includes Aluna George, Sandro Cavazza, Billy Raffoul, and more.
The “Boy Band” host recently earned the Variety and H&M Conscious Award at the Power of Young Hollywood event in Los Angeles. Now, Ora is gearing up to open the 2017 Teen Choice Awards this Sunday (Aug. 13).
