Kanye West celebrated his 40th birthday on Thursday.
And his sister-in-law Kourtney Kardashian joined the rest of the reality TV clan in sharing birthday wishes for the rapper on Instagram.
However, Kourtney's chosen throwback snap that she posted late on Thursday, drew criticism from her social media followers as the Famous hitmaker looked decidedly miserable.
Kourtney, 38, captioned the picture: 'happy birthday Kanye...la familia wouldn't be the same without you.'
The photo appears to be from the family trip to Cuba in May last year.
The hip-hop star is seen sat at a dinner table with wife Kim beside him pretending to smoke a cigar and Kourtney standing to his left along with sister Khloe and Kourtney's son Mason.
Followers were quick to comment on Kanye's glum look.
'Wow he looks so happy' one person wrote, while another commented 'He looks so damn over it lmao'.
'Why does he look so uncomfortable lol,' another asked.
Another follower commented: 'Damn Ye why the stank face...this is the best birthday pic yall could come up with...perhaps he does need to #getthef**kout.'
Fortunately Kim, 36, managed to find a smiling snap of her husband to share on social media.
She wrote on kimkardashianwest.com 'Happy birthday, babe! I know you're not on social media anymore, so you're not gonna see it anyway—and I'm going to be with you to tell you! But if I don't post it, then all the stories will start so…I love you so much! Happy birthday!'
Later the pinup shared a photo with her spouse with the caption: 'Happy Birthday babe I love you so much!'
Kim and Kanye wedded in 2014 and have two children: North, who will be four next week, and Saint, aged one.
