Just three months after its release, 21 Savage’s debut Issa Album has been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.
The featureless project, which boasts production from Metro Boomin, Zaytoven, DJ Mustard, Pi’erre Bourne, and Southside, dropped in July and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The gold certification marks more than 500,000 units moved.
The singles have also performed well. “Bank Account” has become his biggest hit to date, peaking at No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track went gold in August and platinum by September.
This isn’t the Saint Laurent Don’s first gold effort. His 2016 Metro Boomin joint project Savage Mode went gold, as well. It included platinum singles “No Heart” and “X” featuring Future.
Beyond his own solo material, 21 is having immense success as a guest rapper. He currently appears on Post Malone’s “rockstar,” which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for two weeks in a row.
The work doesn’t stop. He’s already previewed new material and is heading out on his “Numb the Pain Tour,” which kicks off Nov. 16.
