Hustler publisher (and longtime supporter of the Democratic party) Larry Flynt is offering $10 million in cash for information that could get Donald Trump impeached.
“$10 MILLION FOR INFORMATION L
EADING TO THE IMPEACHMENT AND REMOVAL FROM OFFICE OF DONALD J. TRUMP,” reads the full-page ad (pdf) in the Sunday Oct. 15 edition of the Washington Post, paid for by Flynt and Hustler, his porn magazine.
The ad asserts that Trump’s election to the US presidency was “illegitimate in many ways” and is “dangerously unfit” to serve in office. It also makes a case against the Electoral College, the voting system used to elect the US president that many believe should be abolished.
Flynt claims to have successfully toppled politicians with similar bounty schemes before. In 1998, he threatened to release details on the extramarital affairs of elected House of Representatives speaker
Bob Livingston (a Republican from Louisiana), that Flynt had obtained through an advertised reward. Livingston confessed to the affairs and stepped down. In 2007, Hustler took credit for exposing an escort-service scandal involving US senator David Vitter (also a Louisiana Republican). A complaint against Vitter was dismissed by the Senate ethics committee in 2008.
“Make no mistake, I fully intend to pay this entire sum,” Flynt writes in his newest ad. “Sure, I could use that $10 million to buy luxuries or further my business, but what good would that do me in a world devastated by the most powerful moron in history?”
Flynt is a vocal Trump critic. Among other things, he has compared Trump to Mussolini, produced a Trump porn parody, and asked Trump to prove the size of his penis. Last year, Flynt put a $1 million bounty out for any “scandalous” Trump tapes.
