When WWE split its brands, it was an inevitability that the annual Survivor Series pay-per-view (PPV) would feature match-ups pitting Monday Night Raw wrestlers against SmackDown Live wrestlers.
If a report from Dave Meltzer at the Wrestling Observer is to be believed, they’re going as big as possible.
Well, at least as it relates to the top titles on the two brands.
Neither will be defended, if current plans hold, but the Universal Champion, Brock Lesnar, will be wrestling the WWE Champion, Jinder Mahal, in a singles match on Nov. 19 in Houston, Texas.
Lesnar just finished up a program with Braun Strowman, where he was demolished in the lead up to it and then won fairly easy with a single F-5 in the actual match. Mahal, meanwhile, has been underwhelming for the blue brand in feuds with Randy Orton and Shinsuke Nakamura.
How they get to booking the match itself will likely be more interesting than anything that comes after it.
