And according to Don Balon, Los blancos talisman Ronaldo wants Ter Stegen at the Bernabeu.
They say the Portugal international is a huge admirer of the German stopper.
Don Balon added that Real president Florentino Perez has been trying to replace Keylor Navas at the Bernabeu for a couple of years.
Perez is determined to sign a new goalkeeper next summer and finally Cut off Navas.
Real have also been linked with moves for Manchester United and Chelsea stars David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois in recent months.
Both goalkeepers played for Atletico Madrid and have been tipped to return to La Liga.
Spain ace De Gea, 26, nearly joined Real in 2015 but a late fax ended any hope of a move.
